Storm Eunice at least four die, winds of up to 120mph batter UK, five confirmed dead in Europe.

In February 2022, Storm Eunice swept across mainland Europe causing devastation. In the Netherlands, four people were killed by fallen trees including the death of a Briton. Along with the deaths in UK and Ireland, it brings the total to nine.

The storm caused power cuts across the regions in the UK. We broke out our blackout kit.

Using a simple gas cooker we had a hot meal and fresh coffee. Following dinner we hunkered down in front of the bioethanol fire place which kept us cosy and warm.
